WELCOME DINNER RECAP

The event ran a little bit on Filipino time but soon enough, guests grabbed a plate and got in line to enjoy a WONDERFUL dinner catered from Felynn’s (all the way from VA Beach!). Our menu consisted of Chicken Adobo, Pancit, Lumpia, Biko, and Puto. Of course, you can’t forget the rice (which was made by our very own exec might I add)!

Once everyone got seated and situated, our lovely President, Zeta Atoigue, and Vice President, Woojin Yoon, welcomed everyone and introduced our amazing executive board! After meeting new members and catching up with old ones, the Culture Chairs, Chabeli Yumang and Will Florentino (and Em Ebalo in spirit) hosted a trivia game based on Filipino fun facts. Do you know where the first Filipinos in America arrived? Or what is the Philippines’ capital??? BUT THAT’S NOT ALL. The Culture Chairs also introduced CULTURE NIGHT which is a suuuppperr fun showcase FASA puts on at the end of spring semester that encompasses an aspect of the Filipino American experience. There are many ways to get involved (acting, dancing, singing, backstage) and I hope to see you there! ;)

Next, we sought out our raffle winner from the organization fair sign-ups who won a pack of strawberry cakes!!! Picking a winner took a couple tries (like eight, give or take lol) but, we finally found our winner in number 47, Zoe! Congrats Zoe!!! I hope that strawberry cake was mm mm delicious! Lastly, in Filipino fashion, we ended the night with a little line dancing!! From the Cupid shuffle to the otso otso, there is no better way to end the night!!
