All her life, Cory grew up surrounded by traces of Filipino culture. Her Lolo and father spoke Tagalog to each other, cooked adobo and lumpia, and religiously watched Pacquiao fights but Cory never felt fully Filipino. Even if she didn’t completely understand her culture, her family and community made sure to fill the gaps. Until one day, she sees a businessman walk out of her dad’s office, leaving a difficult decision in their hands. With the neighborhood she once knew like the back of her hand at risk of transforming into foreign territory, Cory is at a crossroads. She must choose to watch her culture be erased or restore its place in her town.
